The Rivers

Clearwater River: Steelhead fishing trips take place from Lewiston to Orofino. Your typical Steelhead fishing day begins at 7:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm. Salmon fishing usually begins at day break and also ends at 4:00 pm.

Columbia River: Salmon fishing can take place in a variety of places: Bonneville dam, John Day dam, Mc Nary dam, Ringold or Vernita Bridge. Your typical Columbia River king salmon day begins at day break and ends around 4:00 pm. All fishing is done by jet boat.

Snake River: Fishing trips usually depart from Heller Bar in Hells Canyon. From there we can take you up or down the river to hit the hot spots. In addition to excellent fishing the Snake River is a very majestic place. It is home to huge oversize sturgeon, steelhead, salmon, smallmouth bass and rainbow trout. Hells Canyon is also a home to big horn sheep, mule deer and elk which can be seen grazing on the mountains. Snake River jet boat trips are a lifetime memory.

Grande Ronde: We fish for Smallmouth Bass and Trout from Boggan’s Oasis to Heller Bar.  Reel Time offers one day or overnight trips.  The Grande Ronde is a very remote limited access river.  Fishing and scenery are unbelievable.  This is a great trip for fly fishing or spin cast we have a 17 foot willey’s guide model drift boat to guide you to the remote hot spots.

FISHING REPORT - MARCH 18, 2008

Wrapped up!!

The Steelhead season is all but over I have a few more trips but the over weight lady is singing.  Next is Drano lake on the Columbia River.  Predictions are out of this world nearly 37,000 spring kings to swim into the lake.  To give you an idea what the fishing would be like in the lake with that many fish last year the return was 6,800 and I averaged 5 fish per day.  The year before the lake was somewhere around 10,000 and I averaged 8 per day.  So for the first time in my career I am going to offer a guaranteed fish.  If I cannot boat at least one springer then I will give you your trip at half price!!  I will be there from April 15th to May 2nd.  You would travel and stay in Hood River OregonWashington licenses are required and the limit is two.  The fish average 15 lbs and are one week or less out of the salt.

Idaho fish and game set spring king seasons on the Clearwater.  Their predictions are for 83,000 hatchery fish to cross lower granite and 14,000 wild fish.  Translation if all goes as planned it should be the second biggest run in history.  IDFG will be the first to tell you that these are predictions and the only thing they do know for sure is it will be wrong (either high or low).  Of those 97,000 fish to cross lower granite approx 20,000 will be bound for the Clearwater.  The rest go up Grande Ronde, Imnaha, Snake and Salmon rivers. I will start fishing the Clearwater in early May and finish up in June. IDFG has imposed a 2 fish limit in the Clearwater.
